about
Song from compilation "Memento" at Damage Done Records as a labels 10 years anniversary.
lyrics
Otevřela oči
A slunce jí hřeje za krkem
Prohlíží si ruce a hlínu za nehty
Hlas dne jí určuje směr
Vrací ruce do hlíny
A prosí o pomoc
Nahota stud a tolik světla
Ale nebyla to její volba
Nebyla to její volba

She opened her eyes
And the sun is warming her neck
She's looking at her hands and the soil behind her nails
The voice of the day is determining the way
Returning her hands back to the soil
She's asking for help
Nudity, shame and so much light
But it wasn't her choice
It wasn't her choice

Hearing the songs while reading the narrative behind the lyrics, I felt overwhelmed by this tragic story in which humans and artificial intelligence couldn't coexist side by side. Their reciprocal annihilation was inevitable. Except one "sole survivor, in a ship filled with memories. She had become the proof of Earth, proof that life had existed there, a voice for all the species and beauty we once knew". A dystopian concept dressed up in brilliant musicianship! @Slevin, thanks, I owe it to you! Umbra Cornuta
This album is haunting, beautiful, and cathartic. One of the best post-black metal albums out there. I bought a cd on Discogs, but needed the vinyl. Доберман Сатз
Probably the most balanced and well-executed genre blending of any of Deafheaven's records. I would say this is the most accessible record in their catalogue. victor-nightingale
A post-hardcore megalith from the UK: churning guitars, spacey arrangements, and explosive vocals both screamed and sung. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2019
The post-hardcore band’s latest is a reflection on time, memory, death, and grief—and is their dreamiest material to date. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 22, 2019
